The SOLD Council is a reimagined leadership development initiative designed to replace the existing SOLD Incentive Program with a more intentional, community-centered experience for student organization leaders. Rather than operating solely as a points-based incentive structure, the SOLD Council will function as an ongoing leadership council and workshop series that equips student leaders with the skills, resources, and connections needed to strengthen their organizations and enhance the student involvement experience at UNC Charlotte.
Overview/About:
- Through biweekly workshops, roundtables, panels, collaborative discussions, and leadership development experiences, the SOLD Council will create a consistent space for student organization representatives to learn from campus partners, peers, and experienced student leaders while building a stronger and more connected student organization community.
- The SOLD Council also maintains a tiered recognition structure that rewards organizations for meaningful and consistent participation through Silver and Gold status recognition and associated benefits
- Earned benefits are valid for one full semester after completing the workshop series
- Features a variety of leadership development opportunities including workshops, roundtable discussions, panel conversations, collaborative activities, and other interactive learning experiences centered on student organization success
- Topics may include recruitment and retention, organization transitions, event planning, conflict management, collaboration, leadership growth, campus resources, and more
Previous SOLD Program:
- The previous SOLD Incentive Program is no longer operating. Any tiers/incentives that were met will be valid until the annual registration deadline of September 30th, 2026.
Please message acholula@charlotte.edu with any questions.
Organizations can join the SOLD Council by selecting designated representatives to attend a series of workshops:
- Registration is for the Fall 2026 semester
- Only registered student organizations are eligible for the Council
- Meet biweekly on Thursdays from 4:30pm - 6:00pm
- Select 1–2 members to serve as their organization’s SOLD Representatives
- These representatives will attend meetings on behalf of their organization, engage in discussions and activities, and bring information and ideas back to their organization
- Representatives must attend at least 6 of the 8 workshops offered during each semester
The SOLD Council is an opportunity best fit for up and coming leaders in your student organization:
- Representatives should be someone looking to grow their leadership experience within their student organization
- The student organization benefits most from having representatives who are not graduating for at least one full semester after completing the workshop series:
- This is to ensure the skills and resources go back into the organization and the SOLD Council Representative(s) can continue to build upon their leadership skills
- You may select up to 2 members of your organization to serve as a SOLD Council Representative
By participating in the SOLD Council, students will be able to:
- Develop practical skills in communication, planning, and decision-making that contribute to their effectiveness as student leaders
- Identify at least one leadership strength and connect it to future goals
- Engage in collaborative discussions with peers to exchange ideas, problem-solve, and share best practices across student organizations
By being represented in the SOLD Council, student organizations will be able to:
- Plan a program, initiative, or event by setting SMART goals related to their organization(s)
- Build stronger connections and collaboration opportunities with other student organizations across campus
- Foster more engaged and informed executive boards through the sharing of strategies and peer learning
