User Acknowledgement – Niner Engage+

Welcome to Niner Engage+ (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Platform”). By accessing or using this messaging platform, you (“User”) agree to follow the terms outlined in this Acknowledgement.

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are made means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with any part of this Acknowledgement, please do not use the Platform.


User Responsibilities

By using Niner Engage+, you agree to engage with the Platform in a respectful, responsible, and lawful manner. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Not sending or sharing content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate.
  • Not threatening, intimidating, or attempting to harm individuals, groups, or organizations.
  • Not impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity or affiliation.
  • Not using the Platform for spam, phishing, distributing malware, or other malicious activities.
  • Following all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and university policies.

Privacy, Enforcement & Consequences

While the University does not routinely monitor messages sent through Niner Engage+, users should be aware that:

  • Communications made using University systems (including email, campus Wi-Fi, or university-provided devices) are not guaranteed to be private.
  • These communications may be subject to North Carolina Public Records Law.
  • Your activity may be linked to your NinerNet credentials.

To maintain a safe and respectful environment, we reserve the right to review activity on the Platform and take appropriate action, with or without prior notice.

 Violations of this agreement may result in:

  • Content Removal: Content may be removed if it includes true threats, incites violence or illegal action, contains hate speech, defamation, obscenity, unlawful harassment or discrimination, or violates privacy. For more information, visit the UNC Charlotte Free Speech website.
  • Account Suspension or Termination: We may suspend or permanently disable your account for violations of this agreement or conduct that we determine is harmful to the Platform or its users.
  • Referral for Disciplinary Action: Serious violations may be referred to the appropriate campus office(s) for review.
  • Reporting to Authorities: In cases involving threats, illegal behavior, or safety concerns, we may report incidents to law enforcement or other appropriate agencies.
